Borrisokane Adult Book Club resumed last night after a what seemed like a long summer! Once everyone got acquainted the meeting got underway! Members shared their views of the summers books, others vowed to make notes on the books from now on!! We finished up within the hour with our new book for this month Icebergs by Rebecca Johns

It is well researched and captures the social history of the period and life in the White House with child’s eye detail. PJ Lynch’s meticulous, realistic images reveal the close, warm relationship Lincoln had with his boys. Any child with an interest in history, America, and particularly its presidents will be fascinated.

“I thought this was an excellent book and was well written. It is set in the 1960’s in America and has a funny, charming side as well as slightly serious. The characters were very good and the incidents they faced. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to most readers.”

Time travel, FBI conspiracy, disappearing people and planes are all combined with issues of identity and destiny to make this book an exciting and nerve-wracking read with a great cliffhanger!
