Borrisokane Adult Book Club

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

“I thought this was an excellent book and was well written. It is set in the 1960’s in America and has a funny, charming side as well as slightly serious. The characters were very good and the incidents they faced. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to most readers.”

Thurles: Cool Reads Summer Party

Cool Reads Book Club end-of-year party took place in Corleone’s Italian restaurant recently. It nicely rounded off a great year of reading followed by lively discussions. Congrats to all who got involved and submitted reviews. As a result we have had numerous teenagers requesting the same titles! We have another batch of exciting new books ready for September. Thurles: Teen Summer Challenge

The Teen Summer Challenge has started in Thurles Library. Weekly draws will run from Monday 21^st June to Monday 16^th August. This year we have broadened our challenge to include reviews of DVD’s, CD’s, Games, Films as well as Books. Call to Thurles Library to collect your entry forms, one entry form per item.
