MIGUEL DE CERVANTES RETOLD BY MARTIN JENKINS,

DON QUIXOTE

Inspired by books of chivalry, an old country gentleman becomes convinced that he is Don Quixote de la Mancha, a famous knight-errant, and embarks on a series of comic (mis)adventures with his faithful squire, Sancho Panza. Jenkins’ adaptation captures the wit and spirit of Cervantes’ novel in simple, consistent prose that can be appreciated by readers of all ages. Riddell’s vibrant illustrations blur the lines between fantasy and reality, allowing the reader access to Don Quixote’s imagined world of giants, enchanters, and damsels in distress.
